Halloween and Opening Day at Dover Downs.
October 31, 2010
Well it is Halloween. I am missing trick-or-treating this year after being able to go 2 years in a row. Angela is off trick-or-treating with the Thawleys. I will miss it greatly, but today is opening day at Dover Downs so no Halloween fun for me. People always ask me if I prefer Dover or Harrington. I really do not have a preference, both track have their good and bad points. I am just happy to still be working.
Tomorrow I start a new class at Wilmington University. It is Crital Thinking. I hope to learn some things in this class I can use at work and in daily life. Just finished a class called The Novel. I enjoyed it much more than I thought I would.

It has been almost 2 years since my last entry here. No one has mentioned it, but here we go again.
I made it through all of 2009 without getting suspended by the Commission, an accomplishment I am proud of. I have been working in Delaware now for almost 4 years. Some of it has been good and some has been not so good, but I keep plugging along. I miss Toledo and Louisville and never seem to be able to visit either place.
I have not been scuba diving in over 2 years now, which is odd since I used to dive at least once a week when I lived in Michigan. My gear is sitting covered in the barn. I guess I should sell it. I think I have gained too much weight to fit into my drysuit since I moved here. I came across my log book in the barn the other day. Good memories and good times diving.
Since my last blog entry, I have returned to school. I am now enrolled at Wilmington University. I have taken 4 classes so far and got an "A" in all of them. Should have finished when I went...

Let's see if I can update all the Egger news since mid-December. We had a nice Christmas. Angela and I went to see the big Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus show on Long Island. We had a good time. Angela seems to be doing well in school. She has been riding Clifford. Last weekend, we loaded up the horse trailer and took Clifford to Chagrin Falls for the the horse show. Angela did well on Saturday picking up a 3rd, 6th and 7th out of 18 or so in the class. On Sunday, she won the championship in her class. It was great to see Sarah and the gang from Swept Away Farm again. Angela's new trainer, Lisa Ballard, went with us for the show. I hope she had a good time. The weather wasvery cold. The high temp on Sunday was 10. Angela was supposed to show yesterday in Delaware, but she came down with the flu and didn't make the cut. Lisa's kids showed on Phillip though. I think they did ok.
Maria is still recovering from her ankle operation. We go to the doctor in Philly on Wednesday. MaRia now has 2 ear infections and bronchitis. Hopefully she will...

It has been a busy week this week. Tuesday, there was a commission meeting. Also Tuesday, Angela stayed home sick from school. The was we enter fines and suspensions with the USTA is changing. I am trying to figure out the new system, but having a few problems.
Wednesday night Angela had her Christmas fines arts show at school. She played the clarinet and the recorder. We had a good time. After concert, we had dinner at Red Robin. Wednesday morning I took MaRia to Philadelphia to get her cast changed.
Hopefully Angela will be able to ride Clifford today. I think it may rain. If we can get Angela and Clifford back in show shape, we are going to try and make the Chagrin show in January.
I am still trying to figure out how to transfer the video from the camcorder to a disc or a computer. I will work on that some more this week.
I have Christmas shopping about finished. Of course, I spent way too much again already.
Mom's birthday is this week on the 17th, so give her a call if you can.

Christmas time in Delaware
December 9, 2007
As usual it has been a while since my last post. Since the last post in August, MaRia has had her birthday. Angela has started in a new school. We put up fences at the new house and brought Phil and Nate here from Michigan. The racing switched from Harrington to Dover. I had birthday #43. Vicky came for a visit. Angela went to Michigan for Lauren's birthday. MaRia had her ankle operation. Mom came for a visit. We had a nice Thanksgiving dinner at home. Lately I have been busy at work and spending too much on Christmas shopping.
Angela likes her new school. She earned all A's on her first report card. She has a ways to get there. 18 minutes from our house to the bus and then she has an hour ride to school. She doesn't seem to mind and has adjusted well to life in Delaware. Angela is now taking riding lessons at Foxpointe Farm in Smyrna, DE. Lisa Ballard is the trainer there. Angela did well at the two shows she went to around here. I am looking forward to the show circuit starting in the Spring. Angela's school did well in football. ...

Sorry it has been so long since the last update, almost a month, but with the move and starting back to work I really have not had time. So here are some updates.
We are now all residing in Delaware. MaRia is no longer selling real estate in Michigan or Ohio, so her website is down for now. She need to have her ankle fixed before she starts her real estate career in Delaware. She is working on setting up the operation. Then she will be in a cast for 4 months and then will have rehab.
Angela has started riding with a lady named Lisa Ballard at Fox Point Farm in Smyrna, DE. Clifford is not in Delaware yet, so Angela has been riding another pony. Angela took a little tumble last week, but was okay. The girl are heading to Michigan next week to pick up Clifford and maybe Nate. Nate may stay with Sarah in Michigan until we get a fence or two constructed. Little Phil is staying with Sarah to use as a lesson pony as long as she can use him.
Karol has done a fabulous job on the landscaping around the house. She has...

July 22, 2007
Here it is Monday morning at 12:43 a.m. and I am working on an e-mail list for the 2007 Raceway football league. This year's league number is 225009 and the password is "scuba". Join if you want. It is a good time, but limited to 20 teams.
We finally closed on the Delaware house. It went pretty smooth, but we ended up borrowing $6,000 more than I thought we needed. The closing costs were more than I thought they would be.
The new house is nice. We still have a lot to move from the Michigan house and we have to be out of the Michigan house this week. The pool water at the new house is still green and the pool needs a good cleaning. The place also needs from landscaping work. The DirecTV guy hooked up our dish this week and our new bed arrived.
Racing this Thursday at Harrington for Governor's Day.
Thanks to Warren Wilson for helping unload boxes and furniture and retrieving the camper.
After over a year at G and R Campground in Houston, DE the camper is finally folded up and home in Hartly. Thanks for Norman and his staff at G and...

Angela had a good day at the horse show. Two firsts, three thirds and a fourth. Maybe tomorrow will be all blue ribbons.
After the show we went to Pizza Hut with Alex and Haley.
Tomorrow after the show there is an exhibitor's party. We may go to that for a while.
The Pods get here Saturday and we get serious about moving.

Tuesday night I spent the evening at the sleep disorder place in Toledo. I have to go back again next week.
Wednesday we took Clifford to Stoney Ridge for the show Thursday and Friday. I hope Clifford and Angela are up to this week's challenge. It may be their last show for a while.

Thanks to the Lauren and her family for the nice going away party yesterday. The Michams have a very nice pool.
Saturday night Angela, Me and Sami went to Comerica Park for the Tigers-Red Sox Game. We left after 10 innings as we were getting tired. The Tigers won the game in the bottom of the 13 th inning.
Sunday morning Angela tried her new saddle (we had to buy one since we have been borrowing forever). We had to do a couple exchanges, but finally found a saddle to fit both Angela and Clifford.
The get together Sunday night at Micham's house was great.
Today I went and got two fillings at the dentist. MaRia is working on shutting off things here and getting them hooked up in Delaware. I am still searching for my Delaware W-2 for the home loan.
Check out the picture page. It is new. I will be adding to it soon.
